Donnie Ray Callahan Sr.

February 20, 1945 – April 6, 2017

We are gathered here today to pay our final respect to Ray Callahan and wish him the best of journeys.

Ray passed away on April 6, 2017 in Siem Rep, Ancient Capitol of the kingdom of Cambodia

Though many could not be here to join us today, Ray’s son Brandon has prepared a verse and passage to be read in his father’s honor.

God looked around his garden
And found an empty place,
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, ‘Peace be Thine’.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn’t go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.

The following passage is from the book of Isaiah

Do you not know?

 Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Dwell upon our good memory’s and overlook the past. To the friends and family of Ray we extend our sincerest condolences and best wishes for the future.
